Ananya and Thomas’ Wedding Invitations were truly one of a kind.
Ananya and Thomas met in New York. The wall painting in front of which they did their photoshoot is in Central Park, New York. They used this picture for their save the date card too. Since their love story began in New York it was crucial to incorporate an element from there. This resulted in a unique and special hand painted lasercut folder. We were truly mesmerized with the result and how closely it brought the real image to life.
Ananya’s design aesthetic was modern. She wanted to incorporate red, pink and yellow in the card which are all vibrant colors seen in Indian weddings. She wanted an elegant fusion of these elements with western culture to represent Thomas’ background.
Their wedding was in Nizuc resort in Mexico. Nizuc has this bowl of fire in their outdoor architecture and this became the inspiration of our custom illustration on the Hindu wedding card which was temple shaped. The bowl of fire signifies the fire bowl around which the couple takes their 7 vows. In Indian culture, Vows made in the presence of the sacred fire are considered unbreakable, with Agnideva held as both witnessing and blessing the couple's union. This Agnideva illustration on the bold red insert brought out the true essence of an Indian Wedding. We also showed fallen embers from the fire bowl using gold foil printing.
In Western weddings, petals are used to welcome the couple and shower them with love just after they exchange vows. The western card in blush was embossed with waves to capture the beautiful ocean side at Nizuc. The soft petals falling down had such a minimalist and elegant look and truly brought out a comforting feeling of love and affection.
The gorgeous dome shaped welcome party insert had loose watercolor flowers which represents modern art. It is a magical fusion of Indian and Western Elements, bringing the whole multicultural invitation suite together in a wholesome manner.
